RS-5 full exhaust, *need* a power commander?

Buying an 06 with full stainless yoshi exhaust Saturday. It does not have a power commander yet.

I am coming from a gsxr 750 (which was honestly fast enough; but it got stolen) and will not be pushing this 1000 hard for a while as I get used to it. In other words, I don't really care if I lack a few hp.

From a mechanical/engine health/reliability perspective, do I need to install a power commander and get it tuned soon, or can I just wait until I would actually be able to appreciate the extra power?

As far as I know, the intake is still stock.

i mean if its a full system an air/fuel management system in its best interest, could be running a lil rough without one and it will smooth out the bikes power

You'd be able to get away with it as is for awhile, but I'd strongly advise getting some sort of mapping done asap.
