hello all . I have a check engine
lamp on after installing lowering links,by an authorized honda dealer.
it an 2014 cbr1000rr . I under stand that they have to remove the muffler
and O2 sensor to do the job .
I happen during picking up he bike .
I asked the advisor and he said it
will go away afterwards (bull). I took it for a short ride and return right away .
the tech did somthing and said he can't look at it because I didn't have an appointment for this problem.
I have left and rode the bike for about
40km more. light still on .
do you think it will reset for more riding ? I asked them to reset the light and they said there is no such thing as just resetting the light .
of course I will bring it to another dealer but at the mean time is there anyone had the same problem ?
It is probably the O2 sensor lead. The instrument panel will deliver a fault code. You need to search this site to find a thread that describes how to get the fault code displayed.
The Honda dealer that did the lowering links is responsible.
They could scan it and see what code is causing the fault light.
They should have at least done THAT much.
2014 CBR is still under factory warranty. The dealer needs to fix it.
The light will not go away on it's own with more riding.
The guy you talked to was stupid when he said there is no such thing as resetting the light.
There IS A SUCH THING as resetting the light. It's called: CLEARING THE CODES.
The problem is: the light will come back on, because the problem has not been fixed.
The dealer sounds crappy. Any reputable dealer will not do this kinda shit.
What country do you live in? If it is USA, what state/dealer is giving you this bad service?
I want to know.
I am from Vancouver canada . this is the 3rd new bike I brought from them
within 2 years . I still have an 2013
fury .sales manager is very cool .
I will still buy bike from him . I would not use their service dept anymore
Please share what you did to fix it so that someone else with the same problem who searches and finds this thread can fix theirs, too.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
