I am about to trade my 2004 CBR for a leftover 2014. I am looking for suggestions as to an alternative to the stock seat. As much as I loved my 04 which I put 53,000 on, it was an arse killer when travelling any distance on the slab. I can't shrink nor can I lose anymore weight so I am throwing myself on your tender mercies to help a fellow Honda devotee out. There are times when I do over a 1000 in a day so you can see the predicament.
I still have the stock seat on mine as I have not been able to get much info about good aftermarket seats. I would recommend some sort of padded undergarment tho. I used it mostly at the track and it helped a lot and when I started wearing it for longer rides I can definitely notice a difference in fatigue. Not the answer you were looking for but hopefully it helps.
Sargent seat all the way. Its so nice having one on a long ride. It takes almost an hour to get to the local twisties, so its a life saver. Here is a pic of mine when I first got the seat couple years ago.
The only thing is the Sargent seat is a little wider then the stock seat. So leaning in on a corner takes a little getting used to. Nothing bad though.
I am a big fan of Corbin seats, have one on both my bikes. I am sure there are many other good options available. I have the black leather, baby alligator print. I get lots of compliments on it.
