What the heck is this

So I crashed last month and I started rebuilding the front end this weekend. I had this part laying amongst the broken parts and as goofy as this sounds, I can't figure out where it goes. I have a headlight fixture on order and I'm thinking it might attach to that but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

No, I keep that in the bedroom. Plus, my bedpan isnt solid black like this. It has racing stripes on it.

Its off an 07. Its part of the front fairing but I can't see where. I think it will make more sense when I get the headlight fixture.
