Nuts! I was going to work one morning at o'dark thirty. Jumped on the freeway, and was doing about 80mph. All of a sudden a full size tire appeared in my lane.
I could do nothing but hope I missed it, and I did, by 1ft!

High speed at night is not very safe. The headlights on motorcycles are not very efficient at revealing road hazards ahead.

i remember speeding up to pass a SUV around a pretty tight curve doing round 85 and missing a huge dead deer by the smallest of margins. I'm talking a fuckin inch (felt like). The SUV drove right over it and I had just started to pull out to swallow the SUV up. very lucky that day. thing is this stuff happens to us all. that's some insane shit at night. that guy will live forever and some dude who rides in full gear and obeys the speed limit will get mauled by a truck.
