Ram makes a ball that will replace the cap nut on the mirror stud.
I think its 6 mm. Get the short arm and the specific device holder.
I posted pics in a GPS mounting thread.

LOL..all these phone mounts, kits and what not...i just bought a belt holster, took out the swivle clip on the back and got a longer screw with the same threads as the ones on my HESD and bolted it through the old swivel clip...real simple works great and only cost $3

The original post looks awesome, will most likely be copying the hell out of that...im currently in dier need of a better set up! Im currently using the "holster" portion of this iPhone mount with good ol'd fashioned zip ties...It works, but every bump remind me of how much that damn phone is. ..

I've had this for a long time now. No problems at all. It is really stable. Doesn't vibrate too bad or shake or anything.
