definitely buy a AGM cheapo battery from walmart.

I am running a very small 5 size battery from walmart in my 09 cbr1000rr. Hasn't shown a problem in nearly 2 years. 35$ & Tiny!

Geez, just take the battery to Pep Boys or something like that and have them test the battery. They have testors that will tell you if the battery is good or not. If the battery tests bad then it's probably JUST a bad battery. If it tests good then it's something in the charging system, like a stator (Hondas are known for this problem and I believe they extended the warrantee for this part so even a 2007 would still be under warrantee for a bad stator).

Good luck

G'day, after 5 years from new my Cbr 1000 is playing up, F1 light, have to clutch start & it all happened rather quickly- ridden everyday so MY question is, would it be fair to say..., replace the battery????

If its not the battery, could be the stator or a regulator rectifier which play a part in the bike running solely on the battery without the battery being charged...stators around $200 i would guess the R/C is about the same...
