Gas Tank Shell Bolt Question

looks to be right. there should be an arrow on the bas to tell you what way is what. flat side is up though.

I took a look at my headlight the way the OEM collars are on it are teh exact same collars on the gas tank shell.. here

see they are always facing away from where you put the bolt in.







PS: the last pic above.. that black square thing in the middle of the headlight did I install it right is it suppose to be like there or upside down?

I want to double check that I am using the right bolts to put the gas tank shell back on the bike

I have 2 type of bolts that I found in my bag of bolts from the bike when I was taking stuff off.



it says that there should be a washer on the top 2 screws so I found two kinds.

I have a black bolt/washer and a silver bolt and silver/rubber washer does anyone know which one to use ? black or silver
or none of what I have in the picture

IIRC the silver ones are stock, no washer.

on the diagram it shows a 5mm washer on 2 top bolts on gas tank while the other 2 bolts on the front sides no washer


so washer or no washer ?and its silver 100% ?

what are the black ones for any clue ? they came off the bike soooooooo

My bad, was thinking of something else. You're right, the washers go with the silver bolts.

is it the right washers I have in the pic ?...... and its just the 2 washers on top not the 2 on sides right ? on the silver one I have a rubber and metal washer (??) and on the black is just a plain black washer but if you say its silver bolts the black washer shouldn't make sense so I guess its the other one with the rubber on top of metal
