The oil burning would stop me, and is the reason I sold mine. I've seen the inside of the motors that have the issue and it's obvious that something wrong has been occurring. You may get away with just adding oil, but I'm not willing to risk it. Honda has always meant reliability to me, but the '08 changed that.
I'm glad it's over, and the new bikes don't do it but I wouldn't buy an '08. Just my opinion.
