my rf1100 is pretty quiet i havent had any whistle issues for the 8 months i have had, im not a hug fan of the shield mounting system tho

I'm with Steamboat and Hank on the adjustment. I have an Icon and Changing shields and pushing up on the shield causes the side mounts to get out of alignment with the opening in the side of the helmet. I can adjust mine and it will keep any wind from getting in. I believe if you adjust yours it will stop the noise.

Ear plugs are always a given. I'm surprised when anyone doesn't wear them.

do you have the visor set to vent? There are three positions on the lock Lock>neutral>Vent....the visor sill cause a whistle on vent.

I keep it in neutral or locked. Never put it on vent
