That spool holding that thing on ain't made of cf and the tensile strength of cf can be higher than steel depending on how the part is made. The swingarm is only aluminum. Da math. Do it.
FWIW the shark fin on my CBR is not attached to the spool but with threaded inserts on the flat underside. I have a pair of 6mm aluminum bolts (yes I said aluminum) securing the part; should a Bad Thing happen, those bolts are more likely to shear than pull the inserts out of the swingarm. My post, do you understand what I'm sayin'?
