I think ppl who use radar detectors, bike or car are far in the minority.

Ive borrowed a few radar detectors on trips that ive taken over the years. Never had a situation where one completely saved my ass, but I dont generally drive too much above the limit. Maybe 7-8mph over.

They just dont seem to be a necessity.

I love my house, neighborhood and neighbors. But I happen to live b/t (3 blocks away on one side) a county sheriff's office, and about 2 miles (on the other side of me), CHP. so almost everyday, I see a marked unit, some where on my daily commute route. I rarely go above 65 right around my neighborhood on the freeway, duh. but for me, knowing I have a lead foot and a twisty right hand, a radar detector is a must.

I use a Valentine V1 hardwired in my car, Adaptive TPX on the bike with visual LED alert. Both work extremely well. A RD with the GPS function would be nice to filter false alarms.
