Dude, i dont know what say to you, but i wouldnt post here and asking advice like you are asking! We all love bikes here! What kind of answer you will get?
And as soon as you mention your wife, i guess that decision has already been made!!!
For those kinda things, you talk with family, wife, parents e.t.c. And you take advice from them!not infuence for making the decision.
Sleep over and think.think about positve and negative things!
Than you make the decision!

Thanks for the replies folks.

I've been reading about the oil burner issues for a long time, ever since i heard about them in 2009. (after i bought my bike... go figure)

So being outside my warranty i never thought to give honda a call. So i think i will start there and see what happens. That would be sweet, if they fixed her up.

Plan B. Find a salvage, fix up that engine (ie tear down and replace rings and whatever else that is the problem) and transplant into my bike when complete.

Plan C. Keep bike, buy another.

Plan D. Trade in bike for another.

Plan E. Sell all and tell stories about when i used to ride to other riders at gas pumps.

I'll update this thread as my journey unfolds. Really because the forums have been slow, and I'm bored often.

Warranty has NOTHING to do with the RECALL.

I am not the origional owner of the bike.
I didnt have an extended warranty.. I was out of warranty.
Honda installed a brand new engine for me.

Take the bike to the damn dealer already. geeze. its not that complicated.

Selling babies is frowned upon correct?

Recalls are safety issues. They HAVE to be fixed by a authorized mechanic/dealer.

Get it fixed for free and you can keep the baby too!

Haha, decaf.

People take things waaaaay to serious. Don't worry.. im planning on taking it to the dealer ASAP. I am however, at work this very moment.

Edit: Just called the dealer and they say no recall. Giving the same typical excuses and run arounds everyone on the internet has been having with this problem.
