So my next bike will be a liter bike...

Right now, a Honda sounds very realistic. Affordable and I would be able to maintain it without spending a butt load.

If I wait a little longer, however, i would probably be able to snatch a BMW s1000RR. I turn 25 next year so my insurance should be cheaper

vs

Just looking for opinions I guess. 2008 + CBR 1k ? or 2012 BMW S1kRR

Well you need to decide a few things. How much do you want to spend? Where do you plan to ride primarily, street or track? Answer those questions and you'll have your answer.

I'll put this simply for you. If you are waiting to buy because you are banking on cheap insurance, you can forget it... I am 26 years old with a clean driving history, and I'll just say that my profession gives me a HUGE discount. With that said, the cheapest insurance I found is still by no means cheap...

Just bite the bullet, pull the trigger on either bike, and budget in a painful insurance premium.

Sounds like a blade to me, especially if 12k is pushing it. Better street ride anyway IMO

How can you compare the two. One is the poor man's everyday superbike and the other is an exotic superbike. There are 6 cbr1000rr in my area and I have yet to see one s1krr since they came out.
