It's all perspective. The more entitled a person is the easier it is to attribute all the "bad" stuff to whoever is not letting them have their way.

Let's change the perspective...

May I point out, a Motorcycle/Police Chase never happens if the biker doesn't run... Pay the ticket, its a TRAFFIC OFFENSE that you're risking your life over... Running from a traffic ticket result in deaths, you want to be the bigger man, big bad ass to your buddies, never endangering any civilian?... then dont start running away... AND IT NEVER HAPPENS

One person can prevent all of the bad things from happening - the RIDER. We had one here a couple of weeks ago where a rider was speeding, got lit up by a LEO, hit the throttle and rammed a car 5 seconds later at the next intersection. The cop never even started the chase, just drove up and started sorting out the carnage.

^^^It's just a reality that people are going to go over some arbitrary speed limit...the cop does it when he's off duty (and a hell of a lot worse..). That being said, the NYPD and many other places have made it an official policy to call off pursuits...especially for stupid traffic infractions.
you're right, it's all perspective. And the cops perspective is just let him go.....good idea.

My thought is there is no point and no it isn't safe. Most cops are jerks, and alot have huge egos, but so do we. But there are instances where the odds are in our favor, so I am not saying never ever run. Would be great if all cops were cool and didn't bother for minor traffic tickets, and really really cool and they cut us some slack if they see us screw around lol. But we know that's not going to happen.

It would probably change if they required them to live in the city where they work (residency requirement), changed the education requirements to AT LEAST a 4 year college degree, changed the training (knew a NYPD cop that never saw a black person "in person"...residency requirement will help with this...), revamp the candidate screening process to include a meaningful psychological exam, and have a police force that represent the community they are policing.
It's definitely not a job for everyone. There's case after case that prove this. It won't change until a lot of things change first. Until then, a lot of people will not stop.....I won't...actually, depends how I feel and who's chasing...One guy threw a 4 D battery Maglite at me!! I still have it!!....
