chain broke off while riding

yeah so while riding today on the highway, my revs start going crazy and i couldn't shift. I pull over immediately and look the bike over and notice my chain is gone,( thank god i didn't wreck) anyway my question is i had a 520 DID erv3 setup with driven sprockets. I put them on may of last year and they have maybe have less then 2,000 miles on them.( probably way less due to a busy schedule) so can i just replace the chain or do i have to replace the sprockets also?

well if he used a clip type. I'd slap the shit out of him.

I think you'd be okay with just a chain for now. I know Tom88x has a 520 for sale (with a rivet master) for cheap. hit him up.

if it was a master he might not have compressed the plate far enough for the rivet to mushroom properly....

Now that i think about it, i think it was a rivet master, but i remember his tool had broken so he borrowed another co-workers tool which was different than his so i'm sure it's possible it didn't get riveted correctly.

good chance.

Bright side is you're still here.... like i said talk to Tom88x and see what he has. if you don't wanna get the new sprockets then hit brad (lexus rx) and he can get you a chain.

Dude I had the same thing happen to me couple years ago on my 929. I was cruizin at 170 and then bam! Friend was helping replace chain and sprockets couple days before, idiot put put the clip on wrong. Learned my lesson! I don't let no one touch my ride.
Your lucky the chain didn't get wrapped in the wheel or sent the other way.
Oh, and I see your from PG County, you ever head north? Moved to Bmore area in March, learning the area.
