i bought my bike last year with a hotbodies undertail. swapped it out for a oem 2011 i found on ebay. missing a few attachment points but it stays put and fits good.
Just ordered conversion kit in gloss white... from what I hear 09 cbr1000rr fairings are a Pain, to take off.. I figured I'd ask some advice from someone who's been through it already.. What would be best place to start? Any advice is appreciated,, thanks
Actually the install is what I was concerned with,, it's always easier to take something apart but putting it back together especially with non oem products I know I'm in for good time...lol
The service manual will take you step-by-step on removing and installing all the fairings. The conversion kit should have the same fasteners and attachment points so just follow the procedure in the manual.
Have fun, kit just has a lot of little quirks. My mids will not stay attached to lower. Have to fab something up. Also, the undertail that came with the kit is made from fiberglass. Also, not he idea material for that piece
Also, I would recommend as said above, purchase a set of OEM tubes brand new from Ronayers.com for less than $120 I think?? He ones in the kit are garbage
Good looking out on the advice for scooping up some oem air ducts. I found both sides oem for 110 shipped, partszilla
