Hi all, I searched for this topic but couldn't see anything - please send me link if i've missed it.... otherwise
I've just received my aftermarket race glass, from Hong Kong. The product itself appears very good quality - everything looks to line up, strong, paint is great. However, I cannot work out how to make the tail section fit - stock tail has a lot more flex and it stops just in front of pillion seat. New tail being race glass goes right to the tank. I can't see a way of fitting new tail without removing all plastics which is battery box etc.
Has anyone gone through this and can you offer any advice?
If it won't stretch over the battery tray you may have to trim the sides of the battery tray off. If you don't want to do that then I would find a junk one on ebay so you can trim it. The tails will flex quite a bit even if you don't think it will. It doesn't give you a warm feeling inside about it not breaking but they do flex quite a bit. Leave it out in the sun for a while before trying.

sounds like you have a superbike tail. these have seat area molded in & do go right up to the tank, where as supersport tails stop at the rear of the seat like the stockers
....and also use the stock seat.
I've run both. SS tail needed hacking up of the undertray to work.
Thanks guys, yeah sounds like a plan shocker69...i'll hit up ebay. Ideally wanted to keep all the stock gear in tact! There is a bit of flex in the tail but no where near enough to get it over under tray plastics. Got everything else fitting beautifully, hopefully the tail works out! Thanks guys, appreciate the tips!
hahah. I cringed stretching mine over the battery tray. Could of swore it was going to snap. Glad it fit.
