08 CLUTCH 'PRODUCT UPDATE' IMPORTANT!

Hey guys, honda has released a 'Product Update Campaign' for alot of the 2008 cbr1000rr. If you have an 08 with the following VINs please contact your local dealer so that you can be first on the list for the update-

JH2SC590*8M000001 THRU JH2SC590*8M010632
JH2SC594*8M000001 THRU JH2SC594*8M000559
JH2SC591*8M000001 THRU JH2SC591*8M001693
JH2SC595*8M000001 THRU JH2SC595*8M000087
(* denotes check digit)

The dealers should either have the update in stock or have it on the way. You will be recieveing a letter in the mail also if this update concerns you. If you are not satisfied with the service your dealer provides for you or experiance any problems, you can contact Honda at

bummer, there i am.

soooo, what does it replace? and can i get new plates out of the deal, according to the warranty stuff?

if so i might hit the drag strip first this spring hehe

im not posative on what the kit entails, we havent recieved one in yet.

yeah mine was in the first lot of VINs also. As soon as i c one of the update kits ill let you guys kow what all comes with it and everything. Shouldnt be but about an hour to do the job, so the bikes wont be down for very long.

my predicament is the only shop i trust (used to work for) is 2.5 hours away. called one of my buddies and he's gonna see if the owner might send me a kit, but i doubt it. might consider finding a local shop but they'd have to be fine with me helping the mechanic do it.

ouch thats no bueno. If I was you Id call the shop and set up an appointment so you could ride down and theyd have the pats in stock, they can do the service, and you can ride home. Shouldt be to much of a hassle. An experianced tech will be able to do the job in less then an hour.
