04-07 Head work and cam questions

Hey guys,

I have been trying to do some research on making big horsepower with these motors and it seems that some have had some real success. I do have some questions tho if anyone has some insight.

Where are the gains to be had with HRC ECU vs stock and a power commander?

Does the PC lack fuel adjustment? The ability to add enough timing? eed more RPM with cams so the increased rev limiter comes into play? What is a safe RPM on stock internals?

Would just like to clarify what the advantages are and who would benefit from them.

What cam grinds work with stock heads? What about ported? What compression ratio's work best with XXX combination?

Really I would like to compile some info so that others have a easier time as well.

I personally am hoping to clear 190rwhp on race gas, and have my bike ready for tx2k13. Lets get some info and discussion going guys.

I dont know about the hrc stuff but if you do headwork with a great set of cams that should increase around 20 more horse power depending on who does the job, I got my 06 1000rr done and that's what I got out of it with race gas.

Anything over JSB your your gonna have clearance issues, and you have the wrong questions about the ecu

Clearance issues with stock pistons and head? After milling? with 13.5 CR pistons? When they are at what install degree?

What was the combo you chose? Maybe you can add a little info on why you chose the parts you did. Trying to get a lot of this top end information in one place.

I gained almost 20hp from a head work alone no after market cams, just head work, thin head gasket and race gas
