Handle bar reposition

Had my '06 from new, but now I find too much weight on my wrists after a long ride. I've tried a few ST bikes but nothing comes close to the CBR, so I was looking for a good mod to raise the handle bars as I can't bear to sell it. I think I would need flat bars at least, but I would like to retain the steering damper if possible. Would I need to alter the nose cone & the screen in any way? Anyone done this type of mod before could help with any info? Thanks in advance.

I went with Helibars, made the change at same time as new brake lines, but the directions state that you can keep stock lines. Huge improvement in comfort, still felt fine at a couple trackdays. Somewhat pricey, but look completely stock, which I like.
