Whats up guys! I know everyone here is mostly about the wheelies but anyone ever drift a 1k? The other day I was coming around a familiar corner and decided to give a little more throttle than normal. The result was my ass end sliding out a little. It was scary at first cause it was unexpected but I had to try it again cause fear drives me.
Anyways I was wondering do any of you guys ever try drifting these beast? Theres tons of power to get the rear sliding out of a corner and I know the pro stunters do it on there 600s and motoGP guys doing it around corners. Plus it feels hella cool sliding around. Id love to practice this more so any thoughts or suggestions throw em my way.
a couple guys that go out to dallas bike night talk about it all the time. they are stunt guru's and do it just like the car drifting vids. the real stunt guru there said having the hand brake for the rear helped out. it looks like a ton of fun. just like wheelies, i would always suggest hovering that foot over the rear brake to compensate for too much throttle. i wanna try this out as well, the vids i have seen look like its fun as hell to do!
Yea I'm no where close to being a guru just having fun. I have watched a couple videos stating to lock the rear wheel up first then dump the clutch as you lean in. Personally I just enter corners hot and snap that throttle it seems to get the job done on my bike. It'd be cool to learn how to ride it out like some of the pros do but the fear of my tire catching and high siding keeps me humble
yeah, I am in a similar boat to Frankie, I follow my back tire around once in a while lol... and the limos don't turn to bad for what they are. I'm stretched 14 and daily the beatch!
Props to both of you! I have a buddy that has the same bike, hes stretched 7" and has trouble keeping up when we hit the twisties. Although he can do a rolling burnout a lot easier than me even when Im over the tank she wants to pop up. I just find it tons more fun getting on it in a corner and letting that rear tire slide around. its addicting
