hyrepower 04-24-2006, 07:52 PM So I literally just got done putting my fairings back on after doing an oil change and installing my shogun no cut sliders when I set my bike down off the rearstand and it slips and falls to the ground. It fell on the left hand side where the water coolant bracket is and nothing happened to the bike at all. The sliders did not bend at all. They protected the bike as good as can be. The only thing that happened was the slider was ever so slightly scuffed. Now I guess I can just ride the thing without worrying about every single little nick and scratch.
scott1kRR 04-24-2006, 09:01 PM Thats the way to do it. get it out of the way first thing. When I got my 04 I was pushing it back out of the garage to run ofver and watch a track day at Putnam. got in some thick gravel and lost my balance and it fell away from me on the right side. Hadnt even made the 1st payment yet. thats the way it goes
deezuhl 04-24-2006, 10:08 PM happened to me on my busa in the garage.. i loved that thing so much as it fell i literally slid under it and the bike fell on me. lucky for me my buddy was in my house and heard me scream. he thought i cut my finger off or some shit the way i yelled..
spoolin7 04-25-2006, 12:36 AM happened to me right outside my apartment with my '05. the bike wasn't even a month old. i was covering up my fiance's bike and tugged too hard on the cover, it fell into mine, and caused the domino effect. can't beat 2 bikes at once! lol
good to hear the sho guns held up. they did fine when mine fell over too. i'm sure at speed they might be less effective, but if i go down then i'll probably not be too worried about the bike's condition
1000RReasons 04-25-2006, 01:16 AM Abso-fxxking-lootly the 06 shoguns work. I'm tired of reading all these bashers on the 06 bikes using these sliders. maybe the 04-05's sucked, but these work just fine.
good test :P
cmmcdaniel 04-25-2006, 02:59 AM ...when I set my bike down off the rearstand and it slips and falls to the ground. Get one of these and you'll never drop your bike off a rear stand again. They're frickin awesome!

hyrepower 04-25-2006, 03:20 AM Yeah well my pitbull is just fine, it is just my incompitent ass not using the kickstand correctly.

2nd day of ownership dumped it on slimy runoff in my driveway drainage. no sliders yet. plastics, etc. replaced. it happens.

We're not bashing we're offering advice to our friends so they don't have to go through the same headaches we did.
If you don't want advice, don't take it. Keep them on there, anything faster than a no-speed tipover and you'll be kicking yourself. See if I care.

I disagree. I had a woman back into my parked bike and it fell over onto the left side and the sliders didn't hold up. The slider bent and crushed the elbow. The pic on here (http://hooliganbiketech.dynup.net/hondacbr1000rrweb/1000RR_frameindex.htm) is actually mine.
Taylortrash 04-25-2006, 12:30 PM What do you know you are just bashing the awesome shogun sliders.

Did something similiar. Just got my brand spanking new 96 F3 and decided to roll it to the garage. My brother was in the way so I decided to just go around him(this is where I think its just like a bicycle--being light that is). So, I lean the bike toward the other direction when suddenly it tips over and yanking me over it. SHieT!! Side markers crushed the right fairing causing a huge crack. So it goes. :(
hyrepower 04-25-2006, 01:00 PM Well I am just glad I didn't do any damage.
Taylortrash 04-25-2006, 01:09 PM You are lucky.
Slider 05-03-2006, 01:50 PM I am glad to hear the bike is ok.
One question when with these sliders can the crank case covers be hit and I mean at low speeds I know at high speeds anything can happen.
scott1kRR 05-03-2006, 05:06 PM Here is my 04" with shogan no-cuts. I have modified them so they do not sit over the water neck. This was the result of a low speed (40ish mph) low side in the rain at the track the other day. The slider bracket did not bend or rotate any. The lower fairing did grind a hole through it and did grind a little on the high point on the low side of the case cover. Gear shift ground a little and bolt i have in the bracket on the swing arm for my stand did a little. I have thought about epoxying a small flat of steel over the bottom of the case cover to something a little harder to get through befor getting into the cover. I'm not saying there wouldnt have been major damage or the that the bracket would have held up if it had been a harder crash. I would say the down force was less then if the bike was dropped straight over.

Too funny.
Shoguns don't even hold up in the case of some tip overs... LMAO.
They have to be one of the worst performing products of all time.
.
hyrepower 05-07-2006, 12:40 AM well they held up in mine, thanks god.
...when I set my bike down off the rearstand and it slips and falls to the ground
Happend to me as well. Other than the nasty scratches on the right upper fairing, no other real harm done.
