Ronin918 07-26-2004, 10:55 AM I know a couple of you guys have ordered stuff from Helmet Harbor, so I decided to give them a try....Dunno if I am over reacting and being a little bitch, but when I finally got home Friday to open my new helmet, its the wrong fucking one.....
Of course it is not a more expensive one, it is a cheaper model.....In all fairness, I haven't talked w/ anyone over there yet, sent e-mail Fri night, and they're closed Sun/Mon........
I have ordered stuff from all over, and this is the first time that I have received a screw up......I am starting to tell myself STFU, and get it fixed, but attention to detail and getting the job done right the first time are one of my pet peeves.....
DONE VENTING, but seriously, any of you guys had a problem with these guys before???????
seth gecko 07-26-2004, 11:22 AM Never have done business with them but I understand your frustration. Usually the company will make it right but when I order something I am anxious to get the product that I ordered. At best you will still have to wait another week to get your helmet. :x
Yes, you are being a bitch. Mistakes happen once in a while. Allow the company you are dealing with to correct the situation before you get on the internet and whine about it. If they f*ck up again, then flame them to hell ;)
DruDog 07-26-2004, 11:36 AM Since it is their fault...make them next-day-air the correct helmet to you.
scotman623 07-26-2004, 11:37 AM I feel your anger, but people do make mistakes... Give them a chance to fix the problem... Ebay is the way to buy a helmet next time...
red02f4i 07-26-2004, 12:28 PM I actually had the same thing happen a couple years ago. I bought a Shoe X-SPII and when it came it was the wrong color. I called them and they shipped out another one. When it came, it had the correct color code listed on the box, and when I opened it, it was the wrong color again. They sent another one overnight and did what they could to fix the problem right away. For the price I got, and the way they handled the problem, I would still go to them for another lid.
SexfreakR6 07-26-2004, 12:34 PM been good to me!
moto13 07-26-2004, 12:57 PM You are NOT being a bitch. When you order through the mail, it is even more important that the correct item be sent the first time. The inconvenience alone for a wrong item is maddening. Phone calls, send it back...blah blah blah. I NEVER order through the mail. I spend my $$ at the local dealer and have always been satisfied. Mail order companies at best are a crap shoot. Anyone who thinks is OK for the mail order company to screw up is f'd in the head. Gee, I'm done. Can you tell I was screwed ONCE by a company like that?
geremy 07-26-2004, 01:56 PM You can get shoeis way cheaper from parts411.com

Where do you think your dealer orders stuff from (I consider LP mail order)? The only difference is that when something arrives and isn't right your dealer deals with it and you don't. You still have to wait just as long and still end up just as pissed....in addition you have to pay their markup which many of times are higher than that of online vendors due to quantity.

:salute: You are exactly right. I try to never buy anything from the stealer.
Thorn92 07-26-2004, 03:51 PM ...Dealers are usually way over priced...no??

I bought my Shoei X-11 from imotorcyclestore.com for less than $400...the local stealership stopped carrying them because they couldn't sell them for $679....

They have a lot more overhead with employees, insurance, buildings, etc. Without the dealers, I'd have no place to find out the look & feel of a helmet, pair of boots, set of leathers, etc. I'd rather pay extra knowing I can try on something & know that it fits & is the color I thought; rather than guessing, paying to ship stuff back, & wating for the re-order to come in. Being a regular customer at my dealer, I usually get my stuff for the same price or less than I can find on the internet.
moto13 07-26-2004, 04:54 PM I agree with GB7, I have never paid more at my dealer than what I can get it for on the net. In fact I pay less. I have never seen ANY deal on the net that was that good that my dealer would not beat it. The net is nice if you want something and have no choice because the dealer can't get it or doesn't stock it. I believe in supporting the dealers where I ride. Not some jackleg half way accross the country that could give 2 sh*ts if you exist or not.

used helmet? Yea, good idea!!!!
