I have a Soldier in my Company that is having to park his bike over the weekend due to his front tire being excessively worn. If someone has a front tire I will pay shipping. The bike is the only transportation this guy has and recently lost his rank and some pay and doesn't have the funds so I thought I would send out an SOS for him.

You can tape a label to the tire and they will ship it fine. Plan on about 12 bucks shipping.

It's cheaper to ship it in a box through UPS. Postal Service really gives it to you. Averages around $13 to ship a rear boxed in a 24x24x5 box. Probably not much cheaper for a front....

Yeah you gotta be really messed up to lose rank and pay!! hope you guys get a tire!! no, maybe he stood firm on something he believed in, but somebody with more RANK had a difference of opinion, and in the military there's right and wrong, but there's also commands way

no, maybe he stood firm on something he believed in, but somebody with more RANK had a difference of opinion, and in the military there's right and wrong, but there's also commands way Granted, anything is possible but I doubt that's how it went down. In twelve years, I've never seen anyone go down for "standing up for what they believed in." Given the quality of service members we are receiving nowadays, I'd bet he did one of the following four things for this to happen: got a DUI, popped hot on a piss test, beat his wife or girlfriends ass, or didn't pay his bills. Sorry for jackin' the thread up a bit. I do hope the fella gets a tire at least.

Hey, I did over 24 years in the USAF, and I need a new rear tire, how about someone shipping me a brand new set of Pilot Powers Race if you are feeling patriotic and are in a giving mood?!?

Here's the deal, I asked for some help for the guy. I am his company 1SG, I initiated the Art15 he got busted for. He made a mistake, he paid the price. Life goes on. People are offering stuff for free so I asked. As far as questioning his character, the guy has been in Iraq for 2 out of the last 3 yrs. I think he is worthy of something your going to throw away or not use. Everyone does dumb stuff, just not everyone gets caught.

I had to go through a similar situation with one of my joe's. Was an outstanding kid and a great soldier, just had a brain fart and Bam! SPC to PFC in no time flat. He learned from it, got his rank back, and drove on. If I had a tire besides the two on my bike I'd sure give him one. Good luck. Hooah! Airborne!!!

I'm actually a huge fan of your line of thinking (pay up and rock on). I was never knocking the soldier himself in my earlier responses. I was simply saying that his leaders probably didn't take a swing at him for "standing up for what he believed in." That BS aside, it is help you asked for. As it's already Saturday and my next day off is Tuesday, it probably won't fix him up for the weekend. However, I have a brand new set (front and rear) of Corsas sitting in my rafters. It's not likely I will ever use them. If you want to help me get 'em to Kansas, they're all his.

I appreciate the help. I will get in touch with him and PM you about shipping and stuff. I am not worried about him this weekend, but the bike is his main transportation since he only has one car and his wife uses it for their kids. If he was just a joe in the barracks I wouldn't have asked, but he lives off post and rides his bike in to work everday. You were right, he pissed hot, but I guess some of his buddies where doing it and not him in a car and they all came up hot. They all said he didn't do it but he still came up barely over the limit so he got busted too.
