Since a couple people have commented or question about the 07, I figured I shouldn't jack any threads so here we go.
I know there is at least one other on here with one so maybe they will chime in too...
My first impression was 'wow, sweet!'
Replace your 1k... hm... I dunno about that...
Pro:
Weight! - (obviously)
Size - (the damn thing feels SO DAMN SMALL!)
Fit - The tank (cover) fits your legs nice! The tank kind of disappears when your riding. making the bike feel even smaller.
Power - Compared to previous 6's I've had I was REALLY impressed with the mid-range! SERIOUSLY
Looks - While at first I couldn't stand it... It definitely grows on you, now I remember it sitting in the pits @ Jennings and saying, "man that thing look HOTT!"
Mods - Being it's new, hard to get stuff... :( (typical...)
Track days - they REALLY made it easy for trackdays, you can unplug everything and remove the fender/tailight and blinkers without taking the fairings off. And for track fairings it was super easy to remove the unwanted stuff (headlights, etc...)
The biggest concern for me when looking into it was the power, coming off of my 1kRR with the full sys, Throttle kit, etc... etc... etc... I thought I would be extremely disappointed but I wasn't AT ALL! I mean obviously it's no where near the 1k but still REALLY nice!
Cons:
Power - well it's still a 600 (awesome for a 600) but it's not my 1kRR!!!
Wind Protection - Is there any?
HID's - for those street users, the headlight set up is a little different so not sure how HIDs are going to work... (getting the wire into the headlight casings)
Tailight - Obviously that thing is ugly for the street!
Gearing - To give you that extra seat of the pants HP feeling it's geared a little lower I believe, and you notice it up top in 6th, your looking for another gear when I was in the highway. Not a problem just took some getting used to. But then I stripped it! :D
When on my way home on it I felt some buzzzzzz in the pegs but that since seemed to have disappeared. Also noticed quite a few false nuetrals which also seem to be getting better with the break in. And only really felt it while I was on the street. Probably more my fault then the bikes.
At Jennings there was absolutely NO issue.
I know my times will be better (at Homestead Speedway) then they were on my 1kRR and I can't wait to see by how much! :D
um... That's about al I can think of...
