So tomorrow I may enter our local "Flashlight" drags. They are 1/8 mile.
Ive never launched this bike or even tried for that matter. I just know that if I dont Im going to have 600s beating me in the 1/8th.
What RPM should I hold it at to launch and aim for as Im slipping the clutch?
Any other tips to launching decently without flipping the bike on myself? :thefinger:
Thanks!
-Dustin
Edit - I am Stock gearing!

4500 rpm's, drag the clutch all the way to the 60' mark, and full throttle it.
but be ready to short shift.
I get 1.65 or so 60' using this method.
good luck & let us know how U ran.

Watch the light tree. Start your launch 1-2 lights before the green light. Because each person's reaction time is different . Adjust accordingly to your reaction time.

I think when he said it is "flashlight" drags, he means it's going to be a pro tree.
If this is the case leave as soon as you see yellow.

That's the best advice given to me on my first visit to the track. That cut my reaction time to almost zero and consistently every time.
