Hey all, When I changed the oil on my 1000RR yesterday, I wound up overfilling the crankcase by about .3 or .4 quarts. Drove it for about 100 miles. Luckily the oil did not foam. Have any of you seen problems associated with overfilling a 1000RR?

I think more than a few people over fill on purpose (sunters). I've heard arguments both ways. You are fine.

Drain it out to the right level.

you're ok with oil level between the upper and lower lines.I run mine nearer to the upper. Personally I would drain some out if it was .3/.4 quart over the upper line.

you will get a lot more residue in the airbox from breather and make your air filters gummy

you will get a lot more residue in the airbox from breather and make your air filters gummy Thanks for the info! I drained out the excess, and it's back to the normal level. And I didn't make a big mess out of myself. Foam? Yes, foam. As in your oil will turn into a giant glass of Guinness. Not kidding. That can happen just by putting too much oil in an engine.
