Hey Glenn,

why not call or shoot Dan Kyle an e-mail (dan@kyleusa.com).

Tell me, how much of a difference is there btw just the R/T forks and same with SBK valves? Worth the extra doe? (not even sure how much)

called dan he knew nothing on the topic which i found odd, and i have never ridden without the sbk valves they have been in there since day 1 the forks are friggin amazing though... I will always have atleast a cartridge kit minimum after riding with these!

so there you go glenn, you can just keep your wheels, calipers, and forks and put them on the new bike.

i know the rear wheel works.... but im gonna talk to repsol guy about getting the front on on there.... the front end is 10mm narrower.... so im guessing the hub on the front whel is possibly 10mm to wide and rotor offset is way different also so im going to hafta look into the weel issue a little more.

Ohlins forks fit in the 2008, only need new spacers.

I found out today the stock 2004-2007 forks don't fit in the 2008 , bottoms are different.

the front axle on the 2008 is the same as the 2004-2007 ???!!!!!!
while the triple is 10mm narrower.

OHlins fit only need a custom made new spacer.

Stock forks from a 2006 fit in the triple but the the bottoms are differrent so need custom made spacers.
I thought that the forks form the 2004-2007 comparred to the 08 are the same but they are different.

Today I have put the first 200 km on the bike at Assen with stock suspension front and stock wheel. Ohlins rear.

I'm almost sure that the 2008 oem front wheel is the same (size) as the the 2007 oem fr wheel.
Will measure it again and fit it when I have more time.

If that's true about the stock forks, that really sucks. I love the cartridges in mine, and was hoping to be able to swap them over if I got a new bike. Oh well.... one more reason to keep the old '04.

The stock 08 wheel has a skinnier hub. Requires different offset on the rotors, and will require different spacers than the 04-07, but 50mm is still 50mm and the forks should fit fine.

But if the forks are spaced closer together in the tripples, and the bottom of the stock 04-07 fork has that offset like shown in the picture above, it might not work. I really hope it does, because I know I'll never get a deal like I got on my current forks again.

Has anyone actually tried to put the stock 04-07 forks on an 08 yet?

Excellent point. but still only helps if the bottoms are compatible.

By the time I go and do all that, I'd probably be better off selling my current forks and buying new. Or just keep my 04 as a track bike and buy new for the street.

Or just keep jacking this thread until I decide what I'm going to do.

Sorry Glenn. :D

I'm gonna use a 2006 adj triple in my 2008. with a custom made steeringstem. now I can use my PVM wheels and 06 discs.

I loaned a Robby moto 2006, my Attack triple was still at customs (ordered form Brad)

I'm sure you can use the 06 ohlins forks on the 2008, only need custom made spacers, you must use the 2008 discs

see picture with Robby moto triple , The steering stem is the 06 robby moto. the stock bearings are the same size under and above. The 2008 steering stem is thicker than the 2006. I had to make a spacer in the upper bearing.glued in the inside of the bearing. next week friend if mine is gonna cnc a steering stem.

also see my steeringdamper setup.

This way I can use my wheels and discs.
selling and buying new ones costs alot more.

I also wanted to replace the stock steeringdamper. It's not good enough for racing. slow reaction
(tenkate says this, my own experience)

You have not seen my 2008 yet. Friday evening it was a stock bike. 2 days later a full race bike. (stok fairing removed, wheels, shock , forks, brakes, rearsets, subframes, fueltank, exhaust, mounted new subframes, race fairings etc)

next week: full exhaust.
in july: hrc harness with ecu

Like my friend the mechanic says 2 days building a bike from scratch is plenty of time. He worked a the 250 Motogp, they rebuild the engine every night after practice/race.

The hub is a smaller on the 2008 , +/- 10mm
and the offset of the 2008 discs is larger than the 2006 discs

So you can't use 2006 front wheels on a 2008
+can't use 2006 discs on a 2008

if you want to use 2006 wheels on the 2008 you need custom made discs.
