Shoot-Off of the week: THE LIST

Well, if we're gonna do this shoot off we should start a list of people that wanna pick a subject. We can start a list of say 15 - 20 participants and randomly draw their names and assign them a week (or two weeks or month; we can argue about a specific period to complete later). They pick the topic, it's announced on a Friday giving everyone else until the following Thursday night to complete it. Then, the next Friday the next person on the list give the class their assignment. As the list comes near an end we'll start another list giving those that did not get a chance to pick a topic in the previous round priority over those that have. There will be NO previous knowledge for anyone, besides the person picking the subject obviously, this way you can't sit back for 6 weeks waiting and planning for (as an example) the "Heat" topic. Shit, if 1000rr.net had one of the currency mods installed we could charge a "fee" and the winning of that week would get the "dough." Anyway, I'm on the list bitches... Who else? I don't necessarily wanna be in charge of this but I'll update this original post with names as they are added so you don't have to wade through pages of posts to see the list.

how is the winner decided and is it decided weekly or what? like is its weekly maybe we can get a poll each week like the BOTM. just a thought. Also the topic should have to very open, by that i mean you couldnt have someone say f-16 but instead planes. if that makes any sense?

i would think it would be a contributor thing for the voting

And, yes, the topics would also be very wide open. The last one I'd been associated with quite a few years ago is still going on here: http://www.pbase.com/shootin/ Those are the types of subjects and they should always be open to interpretation. As in the example I had above: HEAT. We will certainly receive a wide range of images from hot women to burning buildings. See these interpretations of heat: http://www.pbase.com/shootin/heat This is what I'm thinking as for timeline: Topic 2008-01-02: HOT Topic 2008-01-09: COLD Topic 2008-01-16: MOTION On Friday 01-01 everyone gets the assignment "HOT". They have the weekend and following week to shoot. The "HOT" images are due on Thursday 01-08. On Friday 01-09 everyone gets the assignment "COLD" and then begins to vote on the "HOT" images. On Thursday 01-15 the "COLD" images are due. On Friday 01-16 everyone gets the assignment "MOTION", everyone starts voting on "COLD" and everyone gets the results for "HOT". Although if we do an online poll we won't have to wait for results. Actually, if we aren't wagering anything, even fake forum money, there's really no need to vote but I think that's kinda a given with ANY contest. Mostly this will be for fun and to help each other get the creativity flowing. I also think we should limit each entrant to 2 submissions...

OK, guys... seems like enough people might be interested so let's start something. Go here and sign up if you want to pick a topic. http://www.1000rr.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1378890#post1378890 Since I'm kinda running with this I'm picking the first topic: Wired - Due January 22
