Hello,

Does anyone know if the stock wheels from an RC51 will fit on my 2008 1000? I like the multi-spoke design and was thinking this might be an inexpensive upgrade. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I thought the components on the '08 CBR1000RR were optimized for weight savings. Don't know about swapping on older wheels.

I did some digging as I as looking for rain wheel options. The RC51 rear will work with some spacer/bearing mods, but the front is a no go as the rotors are too close together on the SP1/2. I'm sure you could get some rotor spacers made, but IMO it's more hassle than it's worth.

Pssst, try the search button. ;)

Thanks all. I didn't think about the weight difference. I had forgotten how heavy my 2000 RC51 was. It has been a few years. I'll just keep saving for proper Marchesinis. On a side note, it was ten degrees below zero this morning here in Northern NY, so it doesn't really matter right this minute.

The rear I have is about the same weight as a stock RR rear, but with the sexy 6 spoke design.

TrackHO put 04-07 wheels on his 08. Is that the thread you were looking for, or was it one specifically about RC51 wheels on an 08.

I guess if you want RC51 wheels on an 08, you could combine info from the previous link, along with this one.

I will get some additional info for you. I do know front and rear will work. You need spacers and the fron you have to use 06 1K rotors I think because of the spacing.
