Hi All,I have a stock CBR1000RR 05 with flapper mod that I ran down the 1/4 mile at Eastern Creek in Sydney, Australia.Best times with 40/16 sprockets was 10.7 with a 1.96 60',136 mph and with 44/15 sprockets a 10.6 and 1.93 60' time and 134 mph I'm getting let down by my 60' times,so was hoping people could share their starting techniques including their 60' times and 1/4 mile times.Personally I am starting to think around 4000 rpm get the clutch fully out then wind on the throttle.Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Steve.

Hi all, Reading the 1/4 mile times thread, it would seem you could get down to a 1.60 60' in standard trim.Interested in the techniques people are using who are achieving this and or techniques people are using to achieve fast launches relative to thier set-up.Thanks for the replies so far,Steve.

Heya Stevem, pop through the search engine, heaps of good info here, also hop onto www.nswrats.com (NSW road and trackbikes), a few there love the WSID strip and can help out with advice too... Good choice of bike mate:D JasonBW

had my first drag experience recently. 4k is clearly too low. 5k worked well for me without worrying too much. i'll refrain from launching at 6k until i get better at keeping the front end down. not that this was a problem, but i am afraid of looping it. maybe overly so. i'm beginning to think that once you launch it this way, it won't buck as easily as it does when i roll it on. in other words, when i roll it on, it bucks up around 50mph. is it possible that this doesn't happen as easily on a drag start?
