Wii U
Stupid name, but interesting and fun gaming experience.
I demo'd a console at Best Buy for 20 minutes or so with my wife, playing co-op, and that's all it took. It was pretty schweet. We picked up the deluxe unit with Nintendo Land, and also New Super Mario Bros U and ZombiU.
The graphics are HD (on par with the 360 and PS3) and it's about friggan time since the other consoles have had HD for over 5-6 years IIRC. The real appeal to the Wii U is the much improved user interface and online community "Miiverse" and it is vastly superior to what is offered by the PS3 and 360 IMO. I also have a PS3 and I play an Xbox360 at work pretty frequently.
The gamepad(tablet-controller) offers versatility not seen yet in other gaming systems in that it is used as a second screen for things such as a heads-up display, allows for gameplay while the TV is being used for something else, or allows for split-screen multiplayer with one or more players utilizing the TV as their display with another player using the gamepad as their display. The game Nintendo Land (included with the deluxe Wii U) demonstrates some of the capabilities of the gamepad with it's minigames. The graphics/texturing seem just as good as PS3 and 360, but the game play is much more versatile and an improvement IMO.
Nintendo just needs more titles for this new system.
