sorry for all the spelling mistakes above lol I was raging as typing

also the grills for the tail came bent I had to reuse my oem grills

one grill actually broke off the nose fairing I had to super glue a corner of it so it wouldnt be loose

there are many imperfections in the paint... some spots had running thick paint drops from spraying too heavy and the paint would drop near the ends/sides

ugh

Dude I'm sure you bought from the wrong guy on eBay.... You get the GOOD fairings as the creator of the thread bought, then you get the bad ones where holes dont line up and fitment overall is just a hassle, and the paint jobs are poor... it sounds like you got one of those kits...

but thats just from what I hear, so I can be wrong. sorry to hear of your issue.

OP kit looks sweet. So does yours, BrokenBones. I'm sure it was a hassle reassembling the entire bike, but it definitely looks good. Bought my bike used, and previous owner put it down a couple times. Gonna try and grab one of these kits sooner than later.

Did any of you have issues with melting/warping? I'm going to install mine shortly, and I wanted to know if I needed to find some extra heat shielding somewhere.

I ordered from the same guy on Ebay as the OP and some others in this thread.

Have to remember, these things only cost $450 so very minor paint defect here and there is probably something that comes with the territory. I had one little scratch on the tank (most likely from shipping) I e-mailed the seller with a picture and he sent off a whole new tank plastic and said I could keep the one with a scratch as a back up. You don't get that very often. If you are in the market for aftermarket fairings for cheap I'd see what this dude has. Anyway what do you guys think? I have always been a fan of white paint jobs, obviously.

Edit: Which also means I have my silver OEM for sale. PM if interested. They don't have any cracks and are just scratched from being dropped in garage. Never laid down. Mostly in the decals so if you had the time to sand, repaint, reapply decals, they would be practically perfect. Thinking around $650. I'll get around to taking some pics this weekend. Prefer not to part them out.

The seller is dasheng_tieliang

nnoooooo!!!!! lmao.

this is the honest truth, I came up with this color scheme back in 2010 and had motofansclub paint the fairings I bought from them this color.

I guess back to the drawing board.... it looks good though.

oh yea my lowers did melt though, I replaced them with oem black

I just swapped out mine that have been sitting in a box for three months now. Overall, the install was as frustrating as anything else when you have to remove a million bolts and clips and remember where the all go.

Unlike a few others, I had no real fitment issues on the bike. Only Issue that I did have was because the original owner had frame sliders, so I had to cut the plastics to accommodate for those. It took a total of 5 hours for me to remove and reinstall with the cut delays and all.

I also added HIDs and replaced the third eye build with a white LED bulb, then changed the factory tail for the integrated one with a fender eliminator. A productive day. Too bad I neglected to do anything else!
