True, yet you just have to consider the metallurgy of the materials you're cutting from. Granted, there are aftermarket levers sold on eBay and elsewhere that are fantastic yet they are mixed within sales of other levers manufactured using sub-par materials without regard/testing that they are of sound construction.

I like knowing that the part will hold... not hoping that it will.

I am always one to seek out a good deal, yet I always consider the ramifications for me "cheaping-out" on a part.

Not going to argue "he's right or wrong" about levers; if they float your boat and get the job done; Cheers to ya!

Milling something critical like the pocket for the MC actuation pin a few 1/1000's of an inch off is easier than you may think. And it may not be obvious to the naked eye until something bad happens. If someone is going to spring for aftermarket levers, at least go with a reputable brand such as ASV, CRG or Pazzo.

Oh, and regarding Chinese/Ebay levers, ya may want to give THIS a read.
