I do all my own work but and have never been bothered by shops but...that is not a bad idea at all and something I have never thought of just to ensure that I am getting the work I paid for done.

LexusRX is referring to the PAIR block off plates not the actual engine valves.
As far as the work well it honestly depends on you and several factors;
- Do you have the time to do the work?
- Are you able and competent to complete the job?
- Do you have the tools required?
- Do you trust the shop/mechanic doing the work?
Your looking at ~$13.00 for a filter, $22.00 for synthetic oil, and NGK plugs are ~$9.50 a piece. So $73.00 in parts and $125.00 in labor...that's a little steep I think but that's just me.
It's not a whole lot of fun changing the plugs on these bikes. Personally if I didn't have my own garage/shop to work in, proper tools and knowledge I would pay about $50.00 for that work.
Like LexusRX said just make sure they are doing the work you are paying them for and not just taking you for the money.
