Soo.. Ive decided to get away from clip-on handlebars and go with a riser setup on my 2012 1000rr.
I ordered a new triple upper and some pro taper risers to kick the project off.

Never heard or seen handle bars on a blade before.
I was thinking of raised clip-ons in the past, but still enjoy the aggressive standard set-up riding position.
Your conversion to handlebars does sound a bit worrying especially with cutting the fairing and the way the bike will handle.
Hope it all works out Ok and look forward to your update.

Yeah, i actually did a similar project on my old 06 CBR1000rr. On that one i swapped out the whole front end though. It actually handled better and was way more comfortable to ride.
Let me see if i can dig up some pics of my 06....

I have been riding with handlebars over a year now,

First went naked, sold the fairings and so on..

but few months back my headlight broke and I wanted to change things a bit..

did try clip ons for a week or so.. hated them!
so back to handlebars it was! I havent cut fairing but I did have to lower my raisers for 25mm or so and not at full tilt it does touch fairings but nothing what I can't live with.
