Not with any professional team I have ever worked with or for.

You got that right! Sponsorship at its finest when most of the exhausts on MotoGP bikes are made by a different company than the logo that is on the can...

At any rate I don't really want to be involved in a contested oil thread so I will say 2.5 things and leave it at that:

1. Motul is an excellent brand, pricey, but very high quality stuff. Quite a few teams quietly use their oil in their engines and one team I know puts the Motul 300V into a competitors branded jugs so it appears like they are using their sponsorship brand.

2. Repsol oil is absolute shit. Terrible stuff with excellent marketing behind it.

2.5 In the past I have used cheap Honda GN4 10W-40 conventional oil changed at every 2000-3000 miles for hundreds of thousands of street and track miles during my life and not once have I ever had an engine oil related failure while using it. I use Motul 300V, 7100 & 5100 in all my bikes currently. The more demanding I am of the bike the better the grade of oil I use in it. That being said there are plenty of other brands that are great oils as well, Motul is just what I have come to trust and yes part of that is because of the professional teams and engine builders I have witnessed using it. Again though I wouldn't hesitate to put in some good ole Honda GN4 if I couldn't get my usual Motul. I've also used just about every other brand you can think of at one point or another as I used to get that stuff for free back before the economy took a shit on all of us, but aside from the Repsol I cannot really say I have witnessed unusually poor performance or lab results from any of the other major brands. (oops wrote a bit more than I intended too...)

Fair enough. Wish I could find a Motul dealer out here. The Honda dealers are charging a $1 to $2 more a qt than I remember in CA. The only thing I can get my hands on consistently is Amsoil. And ironically it's at a BMW dealer and it's cheaper than any of the other stuff in the area.
