Good bye Newcomb's Ranch
I was just informed by people who know, that Newcomb's Ranch has become another victim of the 'station fire' in the Angeles Forest...also, the 2 Hwy leading up the Crest, has melted away in many places.
A sad day indeed.

Sad to hear about Newcombs. I hope they will rebuild it.
Also sucks to hear about the road damage as it just reopened a few months ago.
I concour, it is a sad day indeed.

This just in form a friend who works @ Newcomb's...
Darren Martinelli
as of this hour, newcombs is still OK.... the fact that i was able to ring
through at the bar phone this AM for the 1st time in days means that the
power (generator) is on... there was somebody (i assume victor) on the
line... i also hear that severa...l dozen firefighters have returned to the
Chilao area including kenny.... there is still serious threat in there and
the fight is just beginning on this side of the fire.
keep your fingers crossed!

For anyone not aware of how bad these fires are, check out this time-lapse vid, from a guy over at the Superhawk forum:

That's some crazy shite right there.

That is too bad but at the same time it will eliminate a revenue stream for the CHP. Which is a good thing.
