So i used to run the 2CTs on my 07 1krr, I averages (with no track time) 6k miles till I hit the wear bars.
In Feb i picked up my '13 1krr and picked up the Pilot Power 3's. I installed the tires at 500-ish miles, well I am at 3500 miles and i am at the wear bars right now. That means these tires will only last 4k-ish miles before i need to replace them with no track time.
Is anyone else experiencing low regular street use mileage on the newer 'longer lasting' PP 3's? I am wondering if i should swap from the newer version to may perellis.
ok good to see its not just me, i was hoping i got a bad tire. Guess I will be looking to go back to the 2CTs or swapping manufacturer. Its really sad because I had high hopes for these tires after loving the CTs.
I love Michelin tires but I'm tempted to run some pirelli angel gt's. All my friends that run them get great life out of the tire and hit corners as hard as I do.
if you can provide some links or facts with your statement that would be great. I know several people who swear by them and I have yet to see a bad Perelli tire in my years of riding. The same can be said for Michelin, however, providing sources or facts would be much more beneficial.
I would be curious to see the tires in a side by side test. Ya know, same tire except the one was made in China and the other was made in Italy or wherever.
I am gonna go look at my car tires and see where they are made. Who knows, I could have been riding on China made rubber all along.

lol, i had a set of 2CTs that i took to the track and I still got about 6k miles out of them. I just dont feel like the 'newer' version is holding up the michelin's claims.
I got 3 track days and 6K miles out of my Pilot Power 3s. But now they are done and I wouldn't ride any more track days. Maybe just to work. I've got a set of Q3's ready to try out next.
i got like 5-6k miles out of the center of my pilot power 3's i just got the pilot supersports and passed the wear bar at 3500 miles i wouldnt give up on the pilot 3s i liked them a lot for the street longevity and grip wise
well if more people post with the same 6+ miles as a few others. I may give it a 2nd shot. The tires are great, but if im only getting 4500ish out of them then i might as well spend the additional money to have more track oriented tires.
Whoever is getting that kind of mileage on a pilot power 3 is riding very gently. If I get 3 thousand out of this tire I'll be super surprised. At this kind of wear rate I'll just go with a regular pilot power
I'm at 2500 miles on my Power 3's with 1 track day on them. Ride hard every weekend as well as commute during the week. Still have plenty of life in them. Will be doing 2 more track days next week. Be interesting to see what they look like then.
I also adjust my pressures for the type of riding:
35-36psi during the week when commuting
30-32psi for weekend rides (depending on outside temps)
27-29psi for track duty (depending on outside/track temps)
One other note is that I've had my suspension set up for my weight and riding style which can make a difference.

ah gotcha, my afternoon commutes are (As of now) at approx 92 deg....freakin hot right now and its not even august....hoping these tires last until after the summer heat passes
3000, 4500 ,6000 ? Wow. I wish I could get that out of a set. I'm on my 2nd set of 3s. Love them. I loved the 2s also. Great grip on both. I get 1800/2000 out of a set and they are toast. I liked the pures also but only got 1400/1600 out of them. No track days. Be happy with anything over 3000
