2008 Racebike Build
I'm a proud owner of a 2008 CBR1000RR!! Its actually my first 1000 bike that i've owned. I have been racing a 600 for a number of years and i've been looking to break into the 1000cc class. So this is what I did...
I found a used(crashed) Fireblade online and was located in Eastern Poland. Seemed like it could be just what I was looking for! Visable damage but seemed mostly cosmetic parts. So I decided to make the 6hr drive across Poland (I am living more to the East) and check out the bike. I had my good frined with from Lituniena and turns out he came in handy. The seller didn't speak much English but did speak Russia, and my frined also did. I was in LUCK. We got the price down more. The bike was in really great shape (from what i need as a racer anyway) and I really wanted it. Spend a lot of time but I am happy with the results. Had it last week at the track in Poznan and I was already faster then my best lap on my CBR600RR by 2.5sec. The engine is so smooth and the shifting is amazing (I have the Bazzaz TC, QC and FI). Truly a great bike!! Some photos:
