in SA our numbers are issued by Motorsport SA, we can choose our number in begininning of season. I wanted #44 as it was both my grandfather and uncles race numbers and they were both champions in 500 super singles.

in 2013 we are running #44

Some racing organizations a 3-digit number = novice racer and a 2-digit number = expert racer (usually)......like here in the CMRA. Even colored plates differ too
