2014 Stuck in. Neutral.

Hi.
Just purchased this bike on Monday, inspected it, test rode it and rode it 100 miles home with no issues.
I parked it in neutral at home. Went to start it up this morning and it won't shift out if Neutral. It won't go into 1st or 2nd. I really reemed on it too. Anyone ever have this issue before?
It shifted like butter when I rode it last.

Clutch not fully engaged? Try adjusting the clutch cable? I am assuming you are trying to put it in gear after you have started the bike correct?

No sorry that cant be it.
When bikes off it still wont shift.
When the bikes off it should be able to shift without the clutch and that nots working.
I think somethings mechanically wrong.

Put it on a rear stand and press the shifter up and then down while spinning the rear tire with your hand. Does it shift and stop your hand from being able to turn the rear wheel?

There is a mark on the shifter shaft where it goes into the gearbox. Does that mark line up with the space on the lever?

Whether the bike is on or off is irrelevant to the mechanics of shifting.

I think I know what the problem might be; found a post that makes sense.

https://www.1000rr.net/forums/modifi...k-neutral.html

Sandman stated this happened to both his bikes; that the plate bends and causes and issue.
The fix is to fabricate one that's a little stronger so it cant bend.

The attached picture shows that plate that keeps the arm in place.

I haven't confirmed this yet; but I will check it out tonight and update my status.

Confirmed it's what Sandman described. Pulled the shifter out more and it was able to shift. Opened up the right side removed clutch and found the little bracket bent and cracked. I bent it back and welded it, made it a little thicker.
