378 LB 1000RR at the strip

I got my updated Snell 2015, reinstalled chain guard and they let me in. The bike was trapping nice even though the rider could use a lot of work Best was 10.64 @ 142mph. It looks like I left about 1 second on the table?

Stock suspension no strap, stock ride height, stock swingarm
Stock motor (2011, 15K on it)
Gearing is -1, +2 (15/44)
520 conversion, aluminum Renthal
EK 3D GP 520 chain
FMF S-bend slip on
Gutted air tubes
ECU flash (mail order)
BST rims
Dunlop Q3+ 120/60 180/55
Single brake mod, lightened rear rotor
1.25 gallons in it, 91 octane ethanol free.
Lithium battery
I weighed 163 in my gear
Bike weighed 378
Altitude 600', temp 75-80F.

I got 7 runs but I was getting 2 second 60 foot every time, even though I tried to be more aggressive with the launch. I recall @birdoprey said he could get 1.6 with a stock bike and that is where I need to get. I launched at 6500-7000 so it wasnt bogging, wasnt sliding but not getting the wheel to float at all. I was just not letting the clutch out fast enough and I dont think I was getting it 100% wide open in 1st or maybe even 2nd.

The rest was good, no missed shifts, clutchless instant shifting was easy and consistent with this bike. I hit just below redline everytime, although I hear maybe I should shift a bit earlier? Very stable at high speed, no problem stopping with the single brake.

I guess I would rather have the consistent pansy launch problem rather than bogging or wheelie slamming. It was a lot of fun and now I know what I need to work on.

How far are you from a track Puff? When you are going to the beer festival, if you happen to be up here on a Weds or Sat let me know. Lebanon Valley Dragway is 10 miles southwest of Albany. They did a good job checking the track to make sure it was clear before the bikes go out. Pretty laid back track environment though, I could smell clouds of dank coming from the stands

They require Snell 2010 or 2015, muffler (lol), chain guard, 2 piece leather suit w zipper or 1 piece leather suit. I wore leather jacket + jeans because it was 90 degrees rush hour traffic at 430 PM and I had no car to back me up. So they told me I had to limit my runs below 10 seconds and 120 mph. So I just ran the 1/8 for my first 4 passes but the tech told me I could probably get 1 full pass in and he was right they didnt make a fuss about it. Next time Ill run 2 piece leather.

There was another Honda literbike there, stock 929RR, looked like he weighed about 140 with minimal gear. He was just getting out of work so he was told he had to limit his trap speed to 120 also, but he could get one good pass. So his final run he got 11 seconds @ 130mph. Didnt see his 60' time though.

Best i have ever done was a [email protected], never could crack that 9 haha, that was on my 2013cbr, standard height, full yoshi and tuned, and with a double bubble screen. 60ft was a 1.70, thats where all your time is if your 60ft is at 2.0....

The beer fest was last weekend. The weather was pretty shitty so I didn't bring the bike. I might do a track day in NJ this summer so I will make sure to link up with you then if possible.

As for the dragstrip, I've got http://www.keystoneracewaypark.com/ right in my backyard.
