Phone mounts

I was looking to get some input on the a phone mount for my 07. I see ram mount offers the handle bar kit, and techmount offers anoter kind. But I kind of like the ram mount with the universal x grip as I have an otter box on my phone. Does anyone have any pics they can share or suggestions?

Re: Phone mounts

I was looking into the same thing, but find the complications come when dealing with the steering damper. Theres not very much handlebar room for other mounts so I was considering mounting my otterbox holster with some longer similar screws on the steering damper. Phone will be secured tightly but offer no weather resistance. Can still use the charger without issue as well.

I use my cbr for touring sometimes. I needed a useful mount for my garmin gps. I ended up making a flat mount out of aluminum plate and bonding the gps mount to it. I did this as I couldn't find a mount I liked. I know it isn't the same as what you asked, but I was in a similar boat as you as the steering damper covers up a useful hole and there isn't much room on the front.

I just "sandwiched" my otterbox belt clip between the plastic stabilizer cover... as mentioned before not much for weather protection but it works for me..

I have the RAM mount with the X-Grip.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. My ONLY gripe is that the kit they send you, isn't exactly made to fit the CBR stem... You do have to trim it to fit, which isn't hard, but shouldn't have to happen, realistically. You can either trim it or you can buy longer screws and go all the way to the bottom of the stem and add a washer/nut.

Me too. Works great. I made a little press-fit mount into the triple-tree thru hole and it holds it a few inches up above the tank, velchro has never failed me at 150+mph. cheap, clean, got a ton of compliments, and friends who want me to help them make one. Cost me $0. Do it yourself! Be intuitive! Good Luck.

love mine as well. I have a body glove on my s4 which makes it bulky as hell but the x grip holds true. Ill post up a pic when I can

Here's a pic of the RAM mount on my 12. It holds my ip5 with a mophie juice pack on quite snug. I can't remember though, if this will work on your bike if the HESD is mounted on top of the stem nut???
