Howdy to all of the folks here on the forum. I have been following the site for about at least 6 years or more. I figured it's time to come forward and post my introduction. I have been riding CBR's for about 18 years. I've had the 1993 Honda CBR1000F, a 2007 CBR 954, two of the 2008 CBR 1000's one track and the other for the street, 2010 CBR600 Track only, and currently own the 2014 SP and just took delivery of the 2017 CBR1000RR SP2. This is number 40 for all those who care to track where the SP2's are here in the US. I've never raced but have several hundred hours of track day time on various tracks here in the southwest. The CBR has always been my favorite because of its handling characteristics on the track and street. I also like the way the SP2 looks so I caved and purchased it. The brand new SP2 is in the garage and the 2014 SP is sitting next to it. They make a great couple. My track days are over at this point. I just like riding on the back roads and in the mountains. So with any luck these bike should last me a long time.

Thank you, I have been following your build. Very nice. I did notice that problem in the #3 cylinder with the valves not seating correctly. I think I have the exact same problem. So far I've put about 450 break-in miles on the bike. I was taking it easy hoping everything would seat in nicely. However, it seems I might have an issue as the bike just doesn't seem to have the power it should. It would die out at around 6k rpm as if it was running on only 3 cylinders. I think the fact you pulled the head and had the work done may have been your saving grace. We will see if my bike improves in its final break-in run. If not I will be pulling the head off as well. It would be a great excuse to get the cams and porting done.
