04-05 1000rr vs 06-07 1000rr
I'm a 600rr guy right now. Went from an F3 to an rr. With the 600rr 03-04 and 05-06 look identical at 1st glance but have quite a few differences. Other than minor cosmetics (3rd eye placment and pass. seat key position) the breaks are slightly improved, the addition of inverted forks, 15lbs lighter (5 in rotating mass), etc. And after owning an 04 and riding an 05 i wish I would have spent the little extra on an 05-06.

Pretty much got it nailed right there. They are both rather fast.Slight weight difference, geometry change, higher redline, plastics, tweaked suspension.
Don't forget larger front rotors, better velocity stacks, different final gear ratio, and mild bump in compression too
