04 to 07 linkage difference

hello:I just bought a 07 shock and linkage from a member here to replace my 04 stock set-up but have noticed that they are the same. Is there any markings on the 07 linkage to distinguish it from the 04's
Iknow that the 07's is suppose to be longer by 1/4 inch but I am not sure if the previous owner of my bike had possibly already updated it to this 07 set-up or I got " taken" by this supposive 07 linkage seller.
thanks

can you post a pic?

did you get the entire linkage or just ''dogbones'' or the triangular thingy?
I got the whole set-up including the shock, the shock is definitely a 07 but not sure about the rest.
Search, there are ways to distinguish between the two.
just did a search and found that some said that on the 07 linkage parts are stamped MELG not just MEL,is this true
^ Yes, on the triangle for sure. Would have to check the dog bone in the garage but I think that one is stamped as well.
The shock came off a 07 with less than 3,000 miles on. The shock came off my personal bike It came with the Shock, arm, rod and bolts. Didnt scam you buddy

^^^ don't jump to conclusions too quickly now RJ...
Where all the stock linkages on the 06-07 cbr1000's the longer lenght HRC units for the 04-05 and were they stamped MELG if they where,or was this possibly on S.E models like Repsol edition?
Doesn't anyone own a ruler or tape measure any more? Its not that hard to figure out if there is a difference between the parts in your hand and the parts on the bike.

Good find freddy thats what i was looking for
late vs early link

its pretty basic, if neither part has MELG cast into it, its not the late model hrc dimension link, They both should have the letters cast in unless its a true hrc version that has the rib cast into and across the link not dogbone. the hrc is longer but if you dont have both to compare, no MELG no dice
Hello:Thanks for everyones imput on this topic,so in conclusion I'm still confused because seller has insisted that the linkage is the OEM part from his 2007 cbr1000 which is identical to my OEM linkage on my 2004 cbr1000 including lenght of dogbones and MEL stamping
Is it possible that the HRC type linkage was only available on the 06 and not on the 07?
And yes both linkages are the same measurements as the "stock" ones in Mad Mardigen Tech site, used a dial caliper.
thanks
fact vs fiction

dont believe anything you here and only believe half of what you see, no MELG no dice. period
not gonna discredit anybody, but its clear that you dont have a hrc dimension link, they dont magically shrink, expand or change dimensions. the difference between a hrc kit link and a stock 06 and later is a rib cast into the hrc link from just under the bearing that bolts to the swingarm going across the triangle and the stock 06-07 hrc dimension unit has MELG cast into it, there should be no confusion
