a better idea is to take some heat shielding tape and put it on the back of the plastic exhaust shield and just take the metal shield off
06/07 help please, Pic request.

I am re-assembling my 07 after getting a few things powder coated(rear sets, passenger pegs/exhaust heat-shield) and was wondering if someone would be able to post a few detailed pics of the stock exhaust heat shield on the RH side where it goes behind the rear master cylinder and RH rear set & lower fairing area. While re-installing mine the heat-shield seems to be much closer to the edge of the lower fairing than I remember when the bolt that goes thru the RH rearset to the heat-shield is tightened.

I thought about that but decided to have it powder coated matte black to match the rest of the frame/sub-frame.
