Is it possible? If so how. I know it bolts right up to the frame.

reason I ask is because I have a friend who has a 16 superbike engine and we want to put it in a 18.

Are you intending to run 2018 harness, ECU dash, throttle twist grip and throttle bodies?

Are you trying to build a race bike or a street bike?

it would be a race bike and yes I would just be using the long block from the 12-16

I think the cam position sensor is the same but little else. No knock sensors on the SC77 (2017-19) and unique stator and flywheel so may not be as simple as anticipated.

As a race bike I presume you are going to want to use custom sprockets and larger rear tire size. That will somewhat hinder your torque managment working properly.

Is the gear box the same internal ratios as the 2017+ bike? If not then you will not have success using the Quick Shifter or the Torque management system.

no it’s still 16 gearing in there. I figured I’d have issues with a lot of things working and not working. So no advantages to doing the swap and just running into headaches. Gotcha and thank you.

Actually if we run HRC ECU and appropriate harness, that can then be configured around the differences.
I believe you can even have a 17 flywheel machined to fit the 16 crank nose. I had a 16 HRC flywheel machined to fit my 17 crank.

I think the project can have some merit if the motor is a big HP motor worth keeping.

DM me your contact info.
